This past week was a hard one for Kansas City. Another shooting where half the victims are children.

I am so angry about how Missouri cares more about guns than people. I really hope people who live in the suburbs of Kansas City actually start to care about the safety and wellbeing of our city.

Also, I have been holding so much space for what has continued to be happening in Palestine. This call to action by the KC Defender is a must read.

Here’s some other things that caught my eye and made me think last week:

Focusing
Really cool illustration by Nina Dzyvulska.

Peacocks & Pinecones
I can’t believe this is embroidery!

Pop Can
The process that Steven Wilson used to make this series is really cool!

How social media algorithms ‘flatten’ our culture by making decisions for us
Fantastic, but sobering discussing on algorithms and how they influence what we see and consume online. Makes me really miss the days before this had as much influence as it does now.

Rainbow Squares
This makes me want to make another granny square blanket.
