This doodle I made years ago in a sketchbook came to mind more than once this week.

Currently have the “I’m tired of it being negative temperatures” blues. People are right about it being appropriate for the season to reflect. I feel like I keep going through things, gathering thoughts, and reflecting.

It was slightly warmer this week. So much so that on Friday, hundreds of crows decided to land on my building. Imagine being on the phone with a potential client, and tons of crows are flying and landing around the windows!

I have always have a soft spot for crows. My Dad had one as a pet when he was growing up (if you ever meet him, ask him about “Joe the crow”). They can talk, and are really intelligent. Some people see crows as evil and as an omen for bad things. I see them as a good omen when I see a murder of them.

Here’s some things that caught my eye last week:

Everybody in the Pool
If you don’t know who Molly Wood is, let me fill you in! She’s an amazingly sharp, fun podcaster, and seasoned journalist who is now a climate tech investor. I remember listening to her CNET podcast on my ipod mini when I was commuting to my job in NYC before iPhones were even a thing! Her podcast Everybody in the Pool is about “the companies, the people, the products, and the business of solving the climate crisis”. As usual, she has me looking forward to her latest episode.

The magic of the 6/8 time signature
Enjoyed this little bite-sized music lesson about 3/4 and 6/8 time signatures.

You & Me, Me & You...
This makes me want to have a mural on the side of my future home.

Temperature Snake
I never had the desire to make a temperature blanket, but I’m now tempted to make a temperature snake!

Gorgeous Coffee Can Design
Everything from the colors and the typography on this can, is just lovely. What a great spin on vintage package design!

Felt Work by Ali Mac
Very inspired by the innovative use of felt in the work of illustrator Ali Mac.

Les Imprimés Rêverie (Instrumentals)
This no words version of the album Rêverie is amazing. The instrumentals are so textured and rich. Blown away to learn that the Norwegian musician behind the album plays nearly every instrument on the recordings and handles the production and arranging. He’s the music version of Eric Barone!
